Looks like everyone’s in it so I’m really hoping she will be.
The best thing about Beware the Batman is that its mood and style are a perfect fit for Oracle! Come on DC!
As for the rest…eh. Writing and acting are a little flat and I don’t like this version of Alfred at all. Character design is nice, but I thought the animation on GLTAS looked better. Tatsu is cool.
A few months ago after watching The Dark Knight Rises I was so high on my batmania that I started re-reading my favorite Batman arc ever, Cataclysm/No Man’s Land. But I was so busy, it was time-consuming and I had other things to read so I stopped.
Now I started again because I have more free time. I’m just past page 77 of the first trade and I already teared up three times.
- Once when Barbara finds the young cop crying outside the destroyed police hq and tells him to get his shit together
- then when Dick rescues the little kid and the kid calls him Batman and you can feel this shortest of pauses as Dick doesn’t contradict him, thinks of Bruce (he doesn’t know if Bruce’s ok) and then reassures the kid that he’s gonna save his mom
- and finally when Babs is being her awesome bosslady self in police hq pushing back thoughts of her dad and Bullock comes in and he’s all like, yeah Babs you do your thing but I’m gonna look for your dad, and there’s that gorgeous shadowed panel of Barbara saying “Thank God”.
This story is going to be the death of me.
Oracle from DC’s Donna Troy
Last time someone asked me about the scale of my customs so here’s a comparison pic with my hand.
